Hyogo Prefecture, Ootamanegi

The Uzu no Oka Onaruto Bridge Memorial Museum is located on a hill on the south side of the Awajishima Minami IC, the southernmost point of Awaji Island, and is equipped with a 360-degree observation deck, a restaurant with a superb view, a science museum, etc. The museum also has an "o-tamage" size onion, a representative specialty of Awaji Island, adjacent to the museum. The "Ootamage" is a "tamage"-size model of an onion, a specialty of Awaji Island.
The giant onions, glistening in the sunlight against the spectacular backdrop of Onaruto Bridge and Naruto Straits, are very popular as a photo spot. Other ways to enjoy the onions include renting an "onion wig" to wear on your head.
